Series Philosophy

Mission Statement

The AC Daughtry Security Systems Hudson to Highlands (H2H) Race Series exists to help keep the sport of mountain bike racing alive and growing in the New Jersey and New York area. By working together as a series, we can help to cross-promote each others' events, better promote our sponsors, maintain continuity, keep the sport as fair as possible, and give the racers additional incentive by competing for the overall title or best possible finish.

Sponsorship

The title sponsor of the Series is Jamis Bicycles.
Each individual race may have one or more addtional sponsors.

Races

The venues for the races are in state parks and forests, and private lands.
Please respect the areas so that we may return.

Participants

The racers, family and supporters are the ambassadors for the mountain biking community, and represent the series sponsor, the event sponsors and promoters, and their clubs.

Pay Dirt

The New Jersey Pay Dirt Program was created in 1996 to motivate mountain bike racers to participate in trail maintenance and to publicly recognize these efforts.

How does it work? Simple... racers must work a minimum of 5 hours of trail maintenance to qualify for Pay Dirt Points. Five hours gets you bonus points equivalent to a fifth place finish. Trail work can be done in any state, at any park, as long as it is approved and signed off by the park supervisor or authorities. This is very beneficial to the folks in the top positions as it can really make a difference in the final standings for the race series. Does this give you an edge on the folks that do not take advantage of Pay Dirt? Yes, of course it does! But this participation in Pay Dirt allows racers to give back to their sport and achieve a level of satisfaction only accomplished through trail work.

If everyone does their Pay Dirt hours, it will make everyone equal again, eliminating any advantage. The bottom line is get out there and give back to the trails where we ride and race!
